Wanderlust on the mind…
So it has been two years since I did my last cross-country road trip and ever since then, I have been right here in good ol California. (Other than a few Vegas and Tahoe trips)
Lately all these emails I’ve been getting and posts I see on pinterest and tumblr have got me craving an adventure. What I would really like to do is get up and go somewhere cool with my honey, kind of far away from California. But that currently isn’t in the cards, and I’m okay with that. So I decided I would fulfill my wanderlust right here at home. Starting Memorial Day Weekend.
I had bought tickets for my parents to go ziplining in Santa Cruz as a gift for my mom for Mothers Day… Then I thought “why would I send them and not go myself???” So, I bought two more tickets for Blake and I. I am SO excited for this little adventure and just can’t wait for the adrenaline rush it brings.
If you’re experiencing the same wanderlust, I thought I would suggest a few things around here you can do. Here in King City, rumor has it, you can enjoy your night by going Cow Tipping…that would be fun, right??
Just joking.
In seriousness though.
Paso has so many wineries and little wine rooms that are always fun to visit with a group of friends
Cayucos is a nice get away that is close by and if you go there, stop by Ruddell’s Smokehouse and get yourself some fish tacos….I guarantee you will not regret it!! Best fish tacos EVER!
My favorite day trip, which could also be a weekend trip is taking Nacimiento-Fergusson road out of Fort Hunter Liggett over to Big Sur (That drive is gorgeous!!! Do pull over on the side of the road for photo-ops…multiple times!!) And then head north. There are multiple places you can stop and Bixby bridge is there as well (its famous)
And north bound adventures always take us to Carmel for a few glasses of wine at Caraccioli cellars followed by watching the sunset on Carmel beach….everyone applauds when the sun goes down…I love it
Oh and I can’t forget about the Pinnacles. That’s always a quick get away to a beautiful place and some awesome hiking. :),
Or you can do like I do most often and get in your car and drive to the bottom of California, where your fiance lives in the desert. Okay your fiance probably doesn’t live where mine does but I’ve grown to really love 29 Palms. And to love the second half of the drive as well.
Just a little rambling from little ol me. Hope you enjoyed!,
