Wanderlust on the mind…
So it has been two years since I did my last cross-country road trip and ever since then, I have been right here in good ol California. (Other than a few Vegas and Tahoe trips)
Lately all these emails I’ve been getting and posts I see on pinterest and tumblr have got me craving an adventure. What I would really like to do is get up and go somewhere cool with my honey, kind of far away from California. But that currently isn’t in the cards, and I’m okay with that. So I decided I would fulfill my wanderlust right here at home. Starting Memorial Day Weekend.
I had bought tickets for my parents to go ziplining in Santa Cruz as a gift for my mom for Mothers Day… Then I thought “why would I send them and not go myself???” So, I bought two more tickets for Blake and I. I am SO excited for this little adventure and just can’t wait for the adrenaline rush it brings.
If you’re experiencing the same wanderlust, I thought I would suggest a few things around here you can do. Here in King City, rumor has it, you can enjoy your night by going Cow Tipping…that would be fun, right??
Just joking.
In seriousness though.
Paso has so many wineries and little wine rooms that are always fun to visit with a group of friends
Cayucos is a nice get away that is close by and if you go there, stop by Ruddell’s Smokehouse and get yourself some fish tacos….I guarantee you will not regret it!! Best fish tacos EVER!
My favorite day trip, which could also be a weekend trip is taking Nacimiento-Fergusson road out of Fort Hunter Liggett over to Big Sur (That drive is gorgeous!!! Do pull over on the side of the road for photo-ops…multiple times!!) And then head north. There are multiple places you can stop and Bixby bridge is there as well (its famous)
And north bound adventures always take us to Carmel for a few glasses of wine at Caraccioli cellars followed by watching the sunset on Carmel beach….everyone applauds when the sun goes down…I love it
Oh and I can’t forget about the Pinnacles. That’s always a quick get away to a beautiful place and some awesome hiking. :),
Or you can do like I do most often and get in your car and drive to the bottom of California, where your fiance lives in the desert. Okay your fiance probably doesn’t live where mine does but I’ve grown to really love 29 Palms. And to love the second half of the drive as well.
Just a little rambling from little ol me. Hope you enjoyed!,

Mrrr.
Mom woke me up from th couch an hour ago to tell me to come to my room… So here I am. Wide awake. I thought I would take some time to write a post about being the luckiest. :) Today I went shopping with my mom in Paso Robles. We hit the farmers market, some little boutiques, Target, and Lowes…and can’t forget a late breakfast at the great American restaurant, Joe’s Place. We had some good conversations, and laughed a lot, mostly at each other. Talked about what an amazing father I have and how Im lucky to have the relationship that we do. And we talked about my fiance and what an amazing man he is. And I’ve always known I’m the luckiest to have a guy like him from the very beginning. We talked about a lot actually… And did A LOT of shopping at the same time. We talked about wedding things and plans, about my new “other half” of my family that is just an amazing bunch of people and I’m blessed to be a part of their family. We talked about my brother and his little family and how amazing they are. See what I mean? A whole lot of talking about a wide range of things. Today was one of those sweet days that you just take it all in and love every minute of if. My mom is a wonderful woman and I love her to pieces. I love our conversations, our shopping sprees and the things we find, and that we both love interior design so much. And I secretly love that she’s been making plans for my “future wedding” for pretty much my whole life….and it’s finally a reality. What I’m really getting to in this post is that I am truly blessed in so many ways. Today was just one of those “A-ha!” days. I’m grateful for everyone in my life and all the moments. :)
And did I mention that it’s April Fools day? Also known as my mom’s birthday. :) HAPPY BITHDAY, MOM!!! I love you.

Yep! Cleaning, wrapping, shopping, baking and just being amazingly Christmasy. I. Love. It. Cleaning because I get to go to Turlock tomorrow and spend time with Blake and his family, shopping with mom later this afternoon to FINISH Christmas shopping… Finally! And wrapping gifts tonight. And if I have time after, some Christmas baking. It’s a good day to have a good day!!

This early Saturday morning there will be a super-sized total lunar eclipse seen from western North America, Asia and Eastern Europe.
It’s the last total lunar eclipse until 2014!
The moon will look large and red as it will be setting over the horizon and the Earth will be casting a shadow over it. See time and location info at the link below.
Shooting tips:
- Use a telephoto lens (200mm and up) and a tripod

Being a hermit pays off…
So let’s start with mentioning how amazing of a week this is… Today is the last day of November and thats incredibly exciting because I’ve been waiting for December to get here since JUNE! but why does being a hermit pay off? Well, I will tell you why.. :) I went to my math class on Monday and spoke with the teacher about missing class this coming Monday because my boyfriend is finally coming home. :) His response? “Not a problem, actually… After you take the quiz on Wednesday, you’re excused for the remainder of the semester… You have an A in my class” that was exciting not only because being excused from his class is really amazing but also because it means that I actually pulled myself together for my least favorite subject. Then comes my photography teacher and I had to tell him as well that I would be missing class Monday ” oh not a problem.. You have an A in my class anyway” I mean, yeah photography is a gimme class but it’s still excting…. So then I go to my English teacher today who just assigned an oral presentation…. Due Monday. That freaked me out a little. So I mention missing class Monday to her and she looks over my grades and says it’s fine… I can do my oral presentation later and I don’t have anything to worry about.
So now for the icing on the cake… What makes this week even better? Well! Friday I get to go to the King City Christmas Parade with miss Constance and baby Shawn and Saturday I will be in Fresno with my best friend, Sarah and my “other brother” Stephen walking Christmas tree lane and having a good ol time….and the cherry on top that I’ve been waiting for since June and am so so so extremely overwhelmingly excited about??? Sunday at the buttcrack of dawn I’m getting up and driving to Twentynine Palms (which i’ve actually missed!) and my Handsome boyfriend is finally coming hoooome.:)
Now tell me thats not a good week!
But the very nest part of it is being back in his arms and being able to tell him I love him in person again rather than over email, telephone, or Skype. :)
